Concealed

Concealed

When thinking of Oriental Poppies, I suspect the first image that comes to mind is a big red orange wild flower that is open wide to the world. This tightly wrapped unopened bloom shows the opposite theme in order to land its place in the Flower Essences series.

The composition of this piece is built on the two slightly opened side petals, whose edges S curve down from each upper corner to meet near the bottom, before separating again. This energy suggests a soon reveal that I wanted to heighten. By placing the focus just at front most petal with a very shallow depth of field, the remainder of the bloom softens to be Concealed. While the almost opening in the foreground hints at a palpable impending, soon to come forth energy.

This is a very personal / private piece with velvety red-oranges and rich greens that would add grandeur to your bathroom, walk in closet, bedroom, office or study. You can almost feel the energy within the Poppy just starting to come forth, but like anything worth the waiting for, it is Concealed Until the Time is Right.
