Oftentimes within the Flower Essences™ series, my focus on the the wild flower is very macro, or zoomed in on the flower. There are occasions though where pulling back to catch more than one flower establishes context. This in turn demonstrates a facet of the wildflower that would otherwise go unexplored.

The Pasque flowers, featured in this photo, are usually the first wild flower to come up in spring. This inevitably means in foothill regions around where I live, they usually get snowed on, and at least rained on a lot. None of this trio of Pasques has bloomed yet. Each awakened from recently thawed, possibly soon to be again frozen ground, with their tightly closed flower waiting to stand up and unfurl open. The rightmost, foreground Pasque  invites you into the scene. Your eyes traverse to the focal flower in the center with visible water droplets. Then end on the left flower of the three fading toward the background. The Pasque’s deep purple contrasts with lush green grass sprouts and sprigs, as the surrounding grey day shows more weather inbound.
