Spring Ringing

Spring Ringing

You could not get more direct sunlight than the just after high noon light of this photo. So it is obvious why this found its way into the Trees Humming series. The bare branches are almost over lit to the point they vibrate beyond what one could possibly hear. While the slight tilt of early afternoon sun provides more subtle modeling to the tree trunks themselves.

This composition is rooted in a grouping of larger trees that spring up and out from the center of the photo in a subtle V. While there is a sort of wave motion out from that center with a void to both the left and right. At each edge, at least one tree frames the photo. The steep hill covered in brown leaves provides the contrast against which the highly illuminated lattice of branches radiant. All this combines to create an almost surreal scene where the bare branches of winter seem to be Ringing in a soon to be Spring.

This artwork is for any gathering room from a kitchen, to a living room, to a family room. The high energy nature of the photo will lift whatever space it occupies. While various shades of browns, tans and stark whites will play well with any neutral or wood toned pallet.
