Circle of Life

Circle of Life

The almost fluorescing of the moss covered fallen tree consuming the foreground places this fine art photo squarely in the Trees Humming series. It exudes an ecstatic energy that stands in direct opposition to the decaying tree itself.

The early morning light that brought this forest of common trees mixed with redwoods to life created ideal conditions. What made this composition stand out, was the S curve of the fallen tree that leads the viewer back into the center of the photo, while its limbs explode out to the upper corners with smaller branches crisscrossing to add movement. Anchoring the mid-ground are a brigade of softly illuminated redwoods, with blurred deciduous greenery rounding out the background of the photo.

This is keystone artwork for a study, library or formal living room. The redwoods give weight to the photo, and would pair easily with leather, wood, or earth tones. While the fallen moss covered tree provides high contrast to justify any pop of greener or like shade. All the while each element weaves depth into the tapestry of the ongoing Circle of Life.
