Invitation
This Wild Rose falls squarely in what one would expect as a variation within the Flower Essences series. Roses are inevitably associated with love. With love comes the ever renewed Invitation to get to know another better.
Wild Roses usually fully opened up, as opposed to opening sort of like book as this one did. Shot from the side of this sensual pink flower, the separation of both the left and right petals at their base, combined with them curving around and into themselves felt very much like two hands inviting the viewer to come inside to see the flower. I accentuated this action by burying the focus at the back of the flower just beyond the visible stamen. This gives the rear petals their definition / texture, while blurring the curved petals at the foreground. All of which creates the movement that draws you in.
This intimate photo would do well anchoring your powder room, bedroom, or private study. It is as much a gift to the fortunate others allowed to share it, as it is to you the purchaser, echoing a softness few may be lucky enough to partake. The overall affect is a lovely motion of Invitation, beaconing the viewer to Come-Hither and Know More.
