Into the Light

Into the Light

The framing of this Western Wall Flower is what gives the shot the dynamic story it needs to sit squarely in the Flower Essences series. It captures both the intent of the flower’s name, and shows, quite literally, its journey toward a different possible end.

Were the depth of field not so shallow, the clearing in the center of the photo framed by the edges of an evergreen on either side would be starkly visible. Such clarity though would destroy the affect of a hazy S curve like energy rising up through the top of the photo. It took a number of shots to perfectly place the Western Wall Flower within this background, so that the flower feels like it’s coming Into The Light from being a Wall Flower. In order to further reinforce the theme of the Wall Flower, I pushed the focus just beyond its far edge. This keeps its energy still pent up in front, while just beginning a reveal at its back most stamen.

Add this your collection of Flower Essences™ that also have a feeling of emerging. Or place it in your own private oasis, bedroom, study. I love the juxtaposition of the type of flower with the actual energy of the photo. It reminds with each viewing, to allow Our True Self to come more fully Into the Light.
