There are some quintessential moments that if I’m lucky enough, I eventually capture in the Bee Moments series. This Bumble Bee Hanging off a Wax Flower is just such a moment. Locked onto the edge of a a flower gathering pollen with little regard for being 100 times its own height above the ground is just another day in the life of a bee.

In editing this scene, I was able to accentuate the dark abyss like nature of the lower part of the photo to heighten this drama. The bushy tan Bumble Bee Hangs, without a care in the world, over dark green nothingness that seems to go on well beyond the photo. While the remainder of the composition from the upper blurred background to the leaves surrounding the bee, guide our focus to and frame our busy friend. 

Place this fine art photo in a transitional area where there is a feeling of air below like a stairwell. Or place it in your office or study to inspire you to take the calculated risks necessary to push your career and life forward. The richly hued greens will uplift any of these spaces, while the contrasting tan of the Bumble Bee and white of the flower will remind you that Hangin’ Out Over the Abyss, is sometimes the only way to get what you really want.
