Sunnyside
Daisies just feels like a sunny happy flower to me. The composition of this group of Daisies for certain emanates this. They look a bit like a collection of small suns shining. So it’s probably not much of a surprise this found its way into the Flower Essences™ series.
What struck me about this particular group of Daisies was both the S curve moving through them from left too right, and the energy of the one concealed daisy in the middle trying to pop out to be seen. The focus is on the centermost flower with a very shallow depth of field. This both heightens the movement through the group and accentuates the energy of the Daisies reaching up / out toward the viewer. The blur it creates on some of the lower flowers also blurs the line between flower and the pseudo-representation of a Sunnyside egg.
This presentation is anchor artwork for a kitchen, breakfast nook, or a more casual dining room. Its bright cheery yolk yellows and whites jump out from a softly muted green background to hint of food, while almost shouting fun. And what dining space doesn’t need a bit more of both. Laugh with your fiends and loved ones as this Sunnyside group of Daisies All Smiles in Return.
